August is officially Punk Rock month with Punk Rock Flea Market Lorain!

In addition to our first ever Punk Rock Bowling event on Saturday August 6 at Rebman Recreation 5300 Oberlin Ave. in Lorain, we are also hosting a three-week movie series at The Lorain Palace Theater! We are super excited to bring this to all of you!

Rock ‘N’ Roll High School (1979) – Saturday August 13

RRHS

To kick off our three-week series on Saturday August 13, is the Roger Corman cult classic, Rock ‘N’ Roll High School, featuring the greatest American Punk Rock band of all time, The Ramones! Also starring P.J. Soles (Halloween, 1978) as Riff Randall, who with the help of the student body and The Ramones, takes over Vince Lombardi High, in the name of Rock ‘n’ Roll!

As with every single PRFM Lorain event, we are raising funds for a local cause – for Rock ‘N’ Roll High School, all donation proceeds go to the Lorain Professional Firefighters Local 256 Union to help prevent further layoffs.

Also featuring the local band, Soundwave Graffiti, playing before the movie starts !

Sponsored by LoCo Yaks.

Sid & Nancy (1986) – Saturday August 20

Our second movie on Saturday August 20, is the 1986 punk classic, Sid & Nancy, featuring the extremely talented actor Gary Oldman in one of his first major movie roles as Sid Vicious! Also starring Chloe Webb as Vicious’ junkie girlfriend, Nancy Spungen. You’ll also see a young Courtney Love in this Alex Cox gem of a movie.

For Sid & Nancy, all donation proceeds go to the Lorain County Drug Task Force and D.A.R.E. Program, to help educate and prevent drug abuse in Lorain County.

Pump Up The Volume (1990) – Saturday August 27

Pump Up The Volume 1990

On Saturday August 27, our last movie in this series is the 1990 dark comedy classic, Pump Up The Volume, starring Christian Slater as Mark Hunter AKA “Hard Harry”. Watch as “Hard Harry” uses pirate radio to speak his mind and disrupt the status quo at his high school.

For Pump Up The Volume, all donation proceeds go to LifeAct so they can provide more programs and information to local high school students on recognizing depression and suicidal thoughts in their peers.

Sponsored by Clark’s Roofing.
